Beef jerky

Ingredients

  • 500 g lean beef
  • 6 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tbsp (Japanese) soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika powder

Preparation

  1. Use a slicer to cut the meat into thin 3 mm to 4 mm strips.

  2. Put the remaining ingredients in a bowl. Coat each slice of meat in marinade, making sure that each slice is thoroughly and evenly coated.

  3. Cover the meat and leave to marinate in the refrigerator for at least three hours (the longer the better).

  4. Use kitchen roll to thoroughly pat the meat slices dry and then arrange them side by side. Make sure that they don’t overlap. 

     

Tip: freezing the meat ahead of time makes the meat easier to cut with a slicer.
